Song Watkins Park was born and raised in Changwon-si, South Korea, and is currently based in St. Louis.

She holds an MFA from Washington University in St. Louis and currently serves as an adjunct professor in the Department of Art at Saint Louis University and Webster University.

In 2025, she was featured in the SPRING/BREAK Art Show in New York City and spotlighted in an online exhibition with Field Projects.

Her work explores narrative, identity, and the human psyche through figurative painting. Using herself as the subject, she creates authentic and personal narratives that reclaim the female body as a symbol of strength and introspection. Her work revisits childhood memories and literature from her upbringing in Korea, intertwining themes of cultural reflection and universal human experiences.

Watkins Park’s use of color and undefined, liminal spaces invites viewers to engage with layered symbolism, exploring emotions such as fear, curiosity, and eternity. Her paintings seek to bridge the internal and external worlds of both her subjects and audience, fostering a dialogue that celebrates personal and cultural specificity.
